Blackadder. I kinda have a crush on both Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson. Not gonna lie.

One of the best Britcoms ever for sure. It's amazing how he manages to go from total buffoon in season one to an attractive guy in season two. My wife was amazed ;)

 For some reason I've never been able to look at his face, it annoys me. I can't get over it, so I've never watched anything by him. I mean I've seen short clips of some, but that's it.

I LOVE Blackadder - "Blackadder Goes Forth", the 4th series from 1989, and the "Firing Squad" episode was my introduction to the series when I was a kid and really wasn't meant to be watching it, IIRC my grandmother had the VHS at her house and she would have let me get away with burning the world's first dictionary ... in retrospect, I feel the show was simply made for a World War 1 setting, ties with Blackadder III for the best plotline, Stephen Fry plays the OTT, eccentric General Melchett perfectly, and for jokes it beats the other series' by effing miles.

That said, I have a grudge against S1 from 1983 - in S2, the change to Ben Elton as a writer (Atkinson is a good actor, but in the 80s he wasn't a great writer) and Baldrick and Blackadder's apparent brain switch did the show a world of good - put it this way, S1 stuff is not quite as bad as being the comedic equivalent of what Baldrick's "The German Guns" is to poetry, but not far off :-P

My total grades for the series:
1, The Blackadder: 4/10 (and that’s generous)
2, Blackadder II: 9.8/10
3, Blackadder III: 10/10
4, Blackadder Goes Forth: 11/10.
Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected.
