Imo I do believe pearl jam would have existed, stones natural businessman side would have kicked in and Andy wouldn't want the politics of it all. From accounts of others Andy was already working on other stuff as mlb "wasn't the band he wanted" and I believe they would have parted ways after the initial success.

Precisely.
Fuck this American bullshit, I'm from Yorkshire, and it's Yorkshire day. Let's go eat some tatties and Yorkshire pudding.

Yes, but grunge wouldn't have as many casualties. It's usually the popular lead vocalists that go. Wood, Cobain, Staley.PJAICfan wrote:Without the drugs the music would've been very differentPaul1966 wrote:Overall, I think I'd like a Seattle music scene that never had heroin, meth and crack involved.boxcar wrote:Would Grunge Forum exist without Andrew Wood's death?

Yes but without the casualties would Wood even be known? Staley already is unknown by most people (considering for some dumb fucking reason the Grammys didn't mention him in 2002 when he died) and Cobain maybe but he's a lot more now because he died I think.

Eddie Vedder, a musically-inclined Californian ... the probability is ... Vedder would more likely than not have formed a band ... however whether:
- that band would have been called “Pearl Jam”
- that band would have sounded anything like PJ as we know them; Ten had a lot in common sonically with Love Bone (“Even Flow”, “Why Go?”, “Once”)...
... is another matter... rest assured that AiCs “Would?” never would’ve been put from pen to paper ...

Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected.
