Re: houdini
That's a good Melvins CD to start out with. The tough part is figuring out where to go from there. If you're into stuff like "Spread Eagle Beagle" then there are tons of more Melvins albums that sound like that. If you're more into "Hooch" then there's a lot of Melvins albums that sound like that too.
My strategy is to add Melvins to my Pandora station and see what else they play for me. If I notice a lot of thumbs-ups off of one album, I'll consider buying it.
Melvins are one of those rare bands whose songs I thumbs up and thumbs down on Pandora roughly in equal measure.

Great album! Just got it the other day as well when I was in bellingham with my girlfriend. Unfortunatly since she bought it it remains in her car haha. Lizzy is fantastic, my favourite is hooch tho.

Night Goat and Going blind are also my favorite but hooch is the best. it plunges you directly into the teeming weirdness, no fucking about.

I've always liked Joan of Arc a lot. The exstensive chugging on the same note is special. How the second riff repeats every fifteenth note on the sixteenth is amazing.
when the whole thing comes crashing down, don't ask me why, don't ask me why

The Melvins are coming to my area soon and I want to go but I'm nobody would go with me. I don't want to be the loser alone at a Melvins concert

It sucks. And I sure as hell not going to St. Louis late at night by myself. I'm not scared of it but I'm not an idiot either.Curmudgeon wrote:I usually have the same problem.Grunge_Chick wrote:The Melvins are coming to my area soon and I want to go but I'm nobody would go with me. Re: houdini
Why, just go see the band you like? What's the problem? I have very crude interests so I often and up alone at a concert or in the movie theater watching and listening to stuff only I want to listen to
