Comedy Screaming Trees moments

Talk about the formidable Screaming Trees, the first band I ever saw live (opening for Soul Asylum and Spin Doctors in the early 90s).

Comedy Screaming Trees moments

Post by Jim » Mon Jun 11, 2012 1:43 pm

'Comedy' and Mark Lanegan don't often go together, but I wanted to share a comedic moment I had once and see if anybody had any of their own? It was about 1996/7 and I went with a friend to see the 'Dust' tour at Sheffield Leadmill. Not ever having been there before, and me being a bit early, I went through what I thought was the entrance door. It wasn't. I wandered straight in to them setting up, at which point Barrett asked me if I was part of the crew! Not thinking fast enough to say yes, I was ushered out of the doors, but felt pretty damn good!

The gig was ace, although Mark stopped 4 songs before the end and he did look rather ill. The Connors did fine work in singing the last songs and a good night was had by all. Oh yes, Dust is possibly my favourite album, although they're all good.
Is life really as boring as you are?

Dunno if this exactly counts as comedy but I found the picture hilarious anyway  Early Trees as a three-piece! (Courtesy of Steve Fisk 8| )
