Longview is one of the best songs ever. Just doesn't wear off.

Punk Greenday was great. American Idiot is okay, new album I got day of release listened too a few times and forgot about (I do like the ballad "last night on earth") They should go back to being punks....

Now that wouldn't look credible, would it Kev? These guys are 40+, right? I think a punk rock opera was the most logical thing to do for them, and now they're basically an American Classic which means they can play whatever they like, but also that it won't be like the stuff they played in their early days.

And sorry Megs, I meant it doesn't lose any of its power to me :)

I still love Green Day. American Idiot sold-out? I wouldn't call having two 9 minute songs that were the backbone of that album selling-out. They changed over time. I'd be upset if they kept making the same songs they did in 1992.

Greenday are getting worse by the album.

Did anybody listen to Know Your Enemy from the new album? It was basically just trying to find as many words as possible that rhyme with enemy.

Also I think they take themselves too seriously without actually producing a musical output to back it up.
How can I begin anything new with all of yesterday in me?

Know your enemy is just... bah. I totally agree with this.

I remember being really into Green Day in fourth/fifth grade, but I got tired of'em way too quickly after American Idiot. Longview is still awesome, thought.
