The Stooges

Post by Angst-Ridden » Thu Oct 06, 2005 2:12 am

I read that The Stooges had a big influence on Nirvana, and i figured that theyd be an easy band to download and so i downloaded a few songs and i think they are awsome. I dont particularly see the influence in Nirvana, i actually more see it in Mudhoney. They use the same sort of effects such as the superfuzz pedal effect.... and as for the singing, thats very similar to mark arms. I think my favourite song by them so far is 'I wanna be your dog' i can defiantly see the influence on grunge this band had.. anyone else like em? If havjnt heard them you should check em out..

The Stooges prolly Rock, I wanna hear em

Led Zeppelin are famous for ripping from their songs!

Iggy Pop is a classic (love "Passenger") & Trainspotting is one Kickass British movie

It's about a group of druggies growing up together & how their lives go seperate ways & come together at different times; their crazy runnings about trying to steal stuff & make money. Based on the Irvin Welsh book of the same name, it's pretty cool & surreal; lots of trippy bits when their injecting Heroin. Go see! x

Reminds me of Water Babies.....

I Love how Iggy Pop dances 8) sorta seems like Anthony Keides from Red Hot Chilli Peppers was copying on him?

I love the stooges man. And I agree. THere's very little Stooges in Nirvana, but a lot in Mudhoney. I think Funhouse might be my favorite of their albums, but I haven't listened to the first one enough. Raw Power is really good too though

Yeah, that would be really cool. They're also supposed to come out with another album sometime in the future. Which may or may not be a good thing .
