Newer bands influenced and sound like 90s music

Post by smlevin »

Looking for newer bands that are not that popular that are influenced by 90s music. It doesn't have to be grunge influenced. It could be bands influenced by like Counting Crows, Gin Blossoms, Collective Soul, Matchbox Twenty, etc.

Thanks

I have a page for modern grunge, that has had over 600 bands posted on it, with lists of said bands and their links in the notes https://www.facebook.com/pages/Spread-t ... 8060774625

Chout -- heavily influenced by Alice in Chains.
The Decemberists -- If R.E.M. count as "90s music", seeing as their 80s work was better for me but that is not the point, then some of the Decemberists opus should be of interest. I'm after their 2011 album "The King is Dead" -- it has that R.E.M-esque post-punk jangle sound -- made a skerrick more convincing by Peter Buck's guest appearances!

I don't have a band -- yet, but a lot of what I write is inspired by a pot-puorri of old-metal (Purple, Priest, UFO), 80s college-rock and 90s grunge.
