As much as my favourite genres are grunge, alternative, punk and hard-rock, I do love myself a bit of folk rock. My favourites are Lindisfarne, Tom Petty, Beatles (Rubber Soul-era), Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, The Proclaimers, Steve Earle, R.E.M. (a nice blend of alt and folk), Lef Zeppelin (III-era), The Byrds and Seasick Steve. Country/heartland/folk acts like Jack the Lad, Woody Guthrie, Runrig and others, I’m only just getting interested in them. Also bands like Gåte and Dropkick Murphys are decent bands who couple folk rock with punk and hard-rock elements.
