Never would of ever to expect you to use the words Dave (Grohl) and good in the same sentence.

But on a serious note:

Vocals: Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer)
Guitar: Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains)
Rhythm Guitar: Adam Jones (Tool)
Bass: Alex Katunich (Incubus)
Drums: Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, Filter)

Honestly I think this lineup would work really well, Jerry's leads with Jones' thick distorted power chords and Freese's tight rhythms, the bass would probably stay on the lower muddier end of the spectrum but still prominent in the mix, Maynard's vocals from the early 90's would be preferred but if it has to be current then I'd probably go with Kurt Travis, the clean vocalist of post hardcore band A Lot Like Birds, I could also see his voice fitting this setup but not how he uses it in his current band. If we could really set this kind of shit up like see how it'd fit together it'd be pretty cool

Dave Grohl is an excellent songwriter, I'm not sure if anyone can deny that, the Foo Fighters might not be for everyone, but the song writing is top notch for the type of music they make

If obnoxious usage of hooks is what you consider top notch songwriting, then it's probably true.

This is what I like seeing. Drunk Rampage Dante makes me want to watch you burn in a house fire.

Vocals/Rhythm Guitar: Layne Staley
Guitar: Mike McCready
Bass: John Baker Saunders
Drums: Barrett Martin

Love to see how this'd work out :)

So creative!

Anyways, haven't done this in a while so:

Vocals: Serj Tankian (System of the Down, Solo)
Lead Guitar: Jack White (The White Stripes, Solo, The Raconteurs, & The Dead Weather)
Rhythm Guitar: Josh Homme (QOTSA, Kyuss)
Bass: Tim Commerford (RATM)
Drums: Danny Carey (Tool)

I think this would be fun. If it works or not completely different story.
