Downface - The sounds of AIC & Pearl Jam

Post by alice-pearl-sound »

Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone has heard of the band Downface.
http://www.last.fm/music/Downface

"Sadly most of the people used to believe that the most popular song of Downface - Alone is written and preformed by Alice in Chains & Pearl Jam or Tool & Creed."

About a month ago I discovered that it was actually a Downface song.

Anyway I rekon they sound geat and deserve some credit.

Does anyone know if there still together as a band and where I can buy there album? Iknow you can buy there songs off itunes but I would prefer a hardcopy if possible.

Anyway check them out! :)

Woo! I found a thread on Downface, I love this band more then just alone.
Alone is a very awesome song probably my favorite, but I do like much from the Confidence album.
The Within album .. I say was very meh.. I listened to it like once it was alright.
The Within album to me sounds like a mix between tool & Skillet. Which I don't know how I feel about.
Which opposed to the Confidence album which has a true Grunge feel.
That whole album I like.

Any one on here ever heard these guys? For years people argued that this was a Tool, Pearl Jam & AIC compilation, but its actually an unrelated band. This is the best song they put out, though it does sound somewhat like Cover Me by Candle Box, I still think its a great song.

I just listened to a few songs and I like it.

How didn't they get bigger at the time? I can't believe they were ignored.

Yea, these guys are a really great band. Their sound, which I love, is kinda all over the map and I think that is why they never really hit it big. They are hugely underrated. I have never been able to find a hardcopy of the Confidence album, but I managed to piece it together over the years from different sources on the internet. The Within album is impossible to find in its entirety on the net, but thankfully is a little easier to find in hardcopy. I was able to find a copy of it on Ebay, and I just checked and there are a couple of copies available right now. I know that they used to sell copies of the Confidence album through their website years ago, but I'm not sure if that site is still up anymore. Anyway, good luck finding the albums. If anyone finds a hardcopy of Confidence, let me know.
