Why don't you have a medically-themed profile anymore? :( You and Luciditypro's avatars were always such a joy to look at.

Oh oh yay a thread like this 8D ok so starting with the more new wave bands and then more standard rock maybe punk and then early grunge and then maybe some from Hype!, well you know of a few and a few have already been said but I'll just list them. The easiest places to get these are the Northwest Noise blog http://myhairsprayqueen.blogspot.com/ , and the 74ElcaminoHef youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/74elcaminohef?feature=watch (ok this is taking forever and I have to go somewhere so I'll post it with the list now and update the links, and I have a list around here somewhere with more, but it's all stuff I got by looking at Hype! and writing down every band they mentioned or showed on flyers, albums/singles, or that one web of connected bands, but some of them like the puds and the purdins and popdefect I don't think I ever found any music of, and I think there's more wiht names like The Sticks or The Twigs or something, but i haven't checked them out yet, and I'm sure Jan knows of some I don't, oh wait and there are several compilations you can look at too, like the Pyrrhic Victory ones)

Hmm some of those bands aren't exactly early grunge/proto grunge, are they? Sure, Fastbacks, Green River, Malfunkshun, Bundle of Hiss and those are but Swallow, Monomen, Cat Butt, Blood Circus etc. are like grunge-grunge.

I know that took you a while, Kristin, and I will get through all of it (eventually!), but could you, I don't know, maybe write down some essential bands, with brief descriptions, and maybe download links to full releases (be it EPs, LPs, maxisingles, minialbums)

But, from another point of view, the grunge-grunge bands can be considered proto-postgrunge.
