Talk about your favorite fictitious grunge bands. My favorites are Citizen Dick from Singles (I love the cover of Touch Me I'm Sick they did), Mystik Spiral from Daria, Phlegm from the Brady Bunch Movie, maybe The Beets from Doug who sound kind of alternativey and who I once heard of as described as The Beatles meets The Ramones meets Smashing Pumpkins, and maybe one off bands from comedy shows like Dogs from that SNL sketch with Adam Sandler as the singer, which I can't find a full clip of, and The Goo Girls on that The Grungies sketch on the Ben Stiller Show, I kind of want to play and sing like that, they're like Sonic Youth meets L7. Oddly enough I tend to love the parodies of grunge rockers and the songs they come up with even though they aren't real bands. Like I like grunge that much that everything related just sounds good.

The Dregs of Humanity!!!! I was so pissed when a band went and used that name...thought I thought they were smart in beating me to the punch! though I never actually went and listened to that "real" version....and I doubt either would be considered grunge.

Yeah, sure, post non grunge bands too. Wow, I've never even heard of The Dregs of Humanity, or It's Your Move, though I was only born in '92 so I guess that makes sense. Pretty cool, reminds me of Spinal Tap or something...and there's another one. My parents have told me a few times that they saw Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure on their first date, so I always think of that when I hear that name, though I've never seen it. I was just about to add Sadgasm, I can't believe I forgot them. Oh, and I thought of a few more too, like the band off of Gilmore Girls called at first something like Follow Them to the Edge of the Desert, which I like better, then they changed it to Hep Alien. I think they might have shown them playing something once, but I can't remember. And there was one episode of Home Improvement where Mark forms a band with a song entitled "The Happy Clown" which kind of reminds me of No Sleep 'Till Brooklyn or something. There was also an episode of 3rd Rock From the Sun where Tommy Joins a band, and I like the tune they played in that one too. I love the name The Unit Shredders fom that riot grrrl episode of roseanne, but they didn't show any music, and that's always been my favorite episode.

Considering some of the stuff that made it to DVD I'm surprised that Its Your Move never made it... Jason Bateman and Steve off of Married With Children? I mean come no put it out already. I think they used the same set as One Day at A Time or at least I always thought that when I saw it back in the 80s and that'd make sense cus the one show started after the other one finished..or changed sets or whatever. I clearly have watched way to much TV over the years. Don't forget Daisy ChainSaw off of Rosanne and who can forget The Gourmet Scum from Degrassi (I was so gonna call my band that but there was to much resistance) and The Zit Remedy of course!

Daisy Chainsaw was on Roseanne? Or are you referring to the Unit Shredders which I just put up there? I like Daisy Chainsaw too though. First heard of them from Beavis and Butthead.

Ha, I still can't get that out of my head, Sexual Chocolate Baby! I just assumed it would be heavier than that for some reason, probably because of the heaviness of Real Thing. I don't know the movie though.

they were a band that darlene went to see in some far off town with the neighbour chick...who proceeded to ditch Darlene for some sketchy guys so darlene took a million dollar cab ride home.

Oh wow, that sounds vaguely familiar. Funny there actually is a band named Daisy Chainsaw though.

Unless they were just referring to the actual band.

it was the neighbours that moved in after the ones who had a son whow as DJs first friend...those ones moved back to Chicago cus the wife hated Landford (husbands name was Jerry)....the next ones was a single dad with two daughters...the youngerst daughter was the skanky one. If I got the band name wrong I'm gonna look like a knob. I better look it up.
