Yeah, I've always kind of dug these guys. Kind of sad they were so short lived. Dirty Water Ocean is really good. I remember first hearing that song on B&B back when, and having a hard time tracking down the album. Still, pretty catchy songs.

I liked them a lot. They played a reunion show in Seattle last week but I missed it.

Ok I just bought the 2 GAQS CD's but now I would literally kill to be able to listen to New Disaster.. I don't need to hold a CD but I'd kill for the tracks.. (then I'd burn the CD :P )

GAQS is an amazing band they play a brand of grunge in the same vein of Truly and Love Battery, with a psycadelic and alternative touch to their sound. The singer was in another Tacoma band called Inspector Luv And The Ride Me Babies (probably the best name in history) before getting recruited into GAQS. Probably the best story about them, and sadly probably the most popular and it has nothing to do with the music....Is when they were billed for a show in Tacoma....When they were in Eastern Washington....The reason was Pearl Jam wanted to keep their venue exclusive and inimate so they messed with people's heads....Nice.

Anyway, they have an amazing sound, only released two albums but I think "Reloaded" is probably their best output. After it they got billed to play Bumbershoot (which is a massive Northwest Festival) and were featured on a few movie soundtracks.

Members went on to form Devilhead with former Malfunkshun guys, New American Shame, Loaded with Duff McKagen, The Chelsea Smiles and one member went on to do back up duties for Stone Gossard "Bayleaf: album....

Overlooked band in the Seattle scene for sure, I hear they played intense live shows...Wish I could verify!
