Favourite song and album!

Post by Onion Rat » Thu Sep 09, 2010 6:57 am

Pretty sure there isn't one of these right here already.

I have to say, I'm quite amazed about how few people actually have posted in the CB-section... So, if you're reading this, and have never tried listening to the amazingly awesome that is Coffin Break, you shall do so immidiatly. Then, come back here when you're hooked to share your favourites! Okay?

My favourite album is Rupture. World, Quiet Earth, Pop Fanatic and Just Say No are simply perfect, I like to think of it as a very wellstructed and consistent album, not to mention awesome. As for songs, I really, really like Just Say No and Unsanity. They have loads of other great tracks too, but those two just stand out for me.

I love pretty much everything they have ever released, no joke. But my all-time favorite album is "Thirteen", but "Crawl" does comne pretty close too. Despite the band having a more "grungey" sound in their earlier recordings than in their Epitaph days, I still gravitate to the later releases. They just sound more developed, I guess, or at least more intrigueing to me. But you can't go wrong with any of their albums.

Favorite songs are "Regression", "Old N' Jaded", "Just Say No (To Religion)", "KIll The President", and "Boxes And Boxes"

Hah. Once again, amazingly few seem to care about this... Truly, an unappreciated band. (see what I did there? :P)
Thirteen is probably my least favourite of their's, but it's also a solid one. Cloud, Regression and Truth are awesome..

I guess it's just that I prefer Rupture, Crawl and Psychosis.. Hah.
I feel they lost a bit of their edge at that point, making it smoother, kinda. I'm not saying it wasn't the natural or right way to go, it just doesn't appeal to me as much as their earlier stuff does.

"Been Caught Stealing"
I know it's a huge hit single from them and can be heard on the radio, but I just love this song.
Ritual Habitual is a pretty good album and has a pretty awesome cover to it.

Seriously dude, you're not REALLY mixing up Coffin Break with Jane's Addiction, are you? And asking about the possibilities for jazz rock musicians in Houston - in a GRUNGE FORUM??? :weird:

I think my heart just skipped a beat.....I rather refrain from commenting on thus nitwit before I post a long long LONGGG rant about the difference between the two bands, while completely bashing his grunge knowledge and credentials.

:) 8D

I take my Coffin Break seriously

I've been listening a lot of Coffin Break these days. Psychosis and Crawl grew on me.
