Oh man, I've been trying to tape my voice more, and I swear it's like 8 octaves higher than in my head, like one day I actually thought it was lower than my brother's and he has a very low voice, then I tape myself singing and it sounds like a little girl. Weird.

Oh yeah, sometimes my voice sounds good and sometimes it sounds bad, and sometimes it cracks like a teenage boy. I don't have anywhere to sing either, but I try and practice a little when everyone's out of the house, though I still feel self conscious singing and screaming 'cause like what if the neighbors think something's going down, or singing when my family is around because I don't want to bother them or show them my singing voice until I get it good, so I don't do it all that much. I would LOVE to scream like Kat Bjelland or Kathleen Hanna, but I would like some sort of soundproof room first.

Haha exactly my problem too!!!! Cept it's rare that I'm home alone ever...and I live in a 3-family house/apt soooooo can't really do much of anything =/

Therefore I get really lazy/discouraged about playing music. That, and the fact that NO ONE will play with me cuz no one likes my music at all. And people are douches around here, and very very dumb. I can't make friends xD;;

Hmm, interesting. I just discovered them thanks to this topic in the forum, I listened to their first album in YouTube - it sounds more punky to me, but there sure are some grunge intonations in a couple of the tracks there.

Most grunge before it was called grunge is just straight up punk rock, they were there and then in the middle of the topsy turvy and played with all the other bands you might find on this forum

We've had the discussion since before time and space itself on wots grunge and a lesson that at least I've drawn from that is that it's fruitless to try to boil it down to be defined by one sound as so many bands we'd call grunge sound like super different!
