Most powerful Soundgarden songs?

Post by incessantmace » Fri Oct 31, 2014 1:03 pm

Possibly sparked by the B-Sides release, my Soundgarden love is on the rise again  Listening to my selfmade best of CD made me wonder, what are their most powerful songs in your opinion? In the sense that they make you jump and mosh and break stuff and rip your heart out?

Some of mine would be

Birth Ritual
Bleed Together
Tighter & Tighter
Fell on Black Days (Demo Version)
Jesus Christ Pose
Black Rain
"Buy a car, buy estates. Buy a baseball club, or something elite." ("Car Buying Time", Little Bears from Bangkok)

Here's mine:

The Day I Tried To Live
Superunknown
Beyond the Wheel
Jesus Christ Pose
Blow Up The Outside World
Black Rain (I feel like it doesn't get much love, but it's so amazing!)

Black Rain will always get love from me. It even became my SG top pick of choice after I had become kinda tired of Burden In My Hand as my #1 song for like more than a decade.

Room A Thousand Years Wide, hands down. I just love that song.
I come from a country of northern lights, lightless days and nightless nights.
I'm not gonna sit around and waste my precious divine energy trying to explain and be ashamed of things you think are wrong with me.

i love blow up the outside world because the intensity of that amazing fucking chorus is elevated even more when put in contrast to the chilled out trippy verse 8)

edit: also Kim Deal in the music video <3 <3 <3

Certainly not. It's one of the songs I listened to on repeat when me and my then future wife were about to finally be romantically linked.

I love the song, wonder if they've written more stuff for films? Soundgarden has the potential for that kinda shit.

They did Live to Rise for The Avengers. I liked the song, but that's just me.
