Because of the subtle intro, the despair slowly creeping in in the verse and the crying out loud in the chorus. Another proof why Down on the Upside still doesn't get enough recognition in my opinion.

What's everybody's favorite DOTU song?
"Buy a car, buy estates. Buy a baseball club, or something elite." ("Car Buying Time", Little Bears from Bangkok)

THERE'S SO MANY TO PICK JAN!

In all honesty, for me it may have to go to Blow Up the Outside World. Starts slow, gets intense, slow again, intense again. Then this:

Want to make it understood
Wanting though I never would
Trying though I know it's wrong
Blowing it to hell and gone
Wishing though I never could....

So good.

Haha, should have seen that one coming, Oz!

Burden in my Hand was thee song that really got me into Soundgarden and that made me buy my first SG album (you might guess which one that was...). Ultimately it's probably Zero Chance though which might possibly be the most beautiful song ever recorded, at least by that band.

"Why doesn't anyone believe in loneliness?

Stand up and everyone will see your holiness.

They say if you look hard

You'll find your way back home

Born without a friend

And bound to die alone..."

Shit, I totally forgot about Zero Chance. Still, it's probably close between that and Boot Camp. I just love the unorthodox structure of Boot Camp, it just rambles along and then builds up to the chorus and then finishes. Not many bands can pull off a song like that.
