Who should replace Matt Cameron on the 2014 tour dates?
I bet Dave Grohl will do it. No?

Danny Carey should, because what's Tool doing anyway? Man's talent is wasting away as we speak!

Can Soundgarden really be Soundgarden without him? This seems really strange, why did they book that stuff if one of them couldn't do the shows?

I couldn't say how short-noticed this announcement came. Guess finally Matt saw what it meant to play in two high-profile bands at 50+ years and had to make a decision for the upcoming year?

It's just hard to believe that with bands as big as those two there wasn't a bit more organisation going on.

To the original poll, I'd go for Jimmy Chamberlin purely because I don't think Josh would be a great fit (despite him being an amazing drummer) and I want Danny in Tool for whatever it is they are cooking up.
This is a bit of Josh just for you Jan...

Danny Carey and Dave Grohl would be two great fits for this, but taking Danny away from Tool wouldn't make me very happy, especially since they're still working on their new material

There's actually a lot of drummers I can think that would be a good fit with Soundgarden. But none of them would even be in the conversation when they actually pick

I'd love to see Grohl playing SG songs
Everybody would actually, come on

For those about to polka... we salute you
Re: Who should replace Matt Cameron on the 2014 tour dates?
If Grohl actually filled in I think everyone would go nuts
I think Matt is just trying to split his time evenly between bands. I mean, he did just release a new album with SG, so I suppose now it's PJs turn.

Stephen Tow posted this and mentioned Greg Gilmore, at at first I thought he meant that it was going to be him, so I squealed like a little girl, but alas they haven't picked yet, but now I want to say him.
