Probably the most mind-blowing in terms of sheer vocal power has to be "Birth Ritual". My personal favorite Cornell performance is on "All Night Thing".

I didn't even know Soundgarden was considered a grunge band. I guess I never really thought about their genre, but I always thought it sounded very clear and free imo.

Haha, Soundgarden is the only band both considered one of "the big four" and grunge pioneers.
And listen to their older stuff, watch some live videos, the energy is intense! :)

Id have to say that Say Hello 2 Heaven is my favorite vocal performance of Chis of all time, the emotion, the tone, the smoothness, the intensity of the high notes, its perfect. also, as for soundgarden songs, Beyond the Wheel is the perfect combination of high notes and low notes, also Gun, for being one of my favorite SG songs, and the way he sings it is really exceptional

Mad Season could be McCready's best work, but Riot Act is his best sound. His solos in Riot Act are impeccable.

Mad season was incredible, I wish layne and mark did more than a few songs together, and really I only think I like a handful of songs off of riot act

Mad Season's Above is one of my favorite albums ever. I think it may be literally impossible for me to ever get tired of it

Riot Act was a very underrated album. I think it was one of their best.
