Yeah, the stuff they put on BBC Four is pretty good and I like Andrew Marr's shows but apart from those it's not great. Stuff like the One Show I just don't understand, who is that supposed to be aimed at?
plebbs!

they really should bring back 'how do they do that'.
I even read that in Eamonn Holmes' voice.

I think Channel 4 should really be pulling it's weight more. This is the channel that brought us The Tube, The Word and TFI Friday. Now what do we have? T4?
ahhh, no mate - i'm talking proper des lynham, and that other woman who only did that show and then disappeared like some sort of android from the future. old school.

T4 - presented by and targeted at foetuses, featuring the very latest pop product! apparently it's going soon. good riddance.

bring back the word C4!

back on topic. 'bones of birds' - what a tune. has to be in my top 5 favourite tracks of any band ever. if I can even get within 10% of creating something as epically beautiful and effective as that song in my band, I'll die a happy singing drummer.

I've listened to about 50 % of the stream, and the album doesn't sound that far from what I expected (even with these poor computer speakers) :D I just wish the release date was before this weekend. I have a lot of driving to do.

I FUCKING love the album. I listened to the whole thing and it was seriously fucking great. I allowed myself to listen to it once, now I'm waiting to buy it to listen to it again. Can't wait!

Got the album today. There was another man buying it at the same time as me and we gave each other a silent but powerful nod of recognition. Shame this man wasn't a beautiful woman as obviously that would have led to a romantic-comedy style love story based on our shared musical tastes. Oh well.

Anyway, pleasantly surprised with the album after the first listen. Been Away Too Long and Halfway There (less said about this, the better) are the standout weaknesses and the production is a little bit overly polished, in particular the demo version of Worse Dreams included on the deluxe edition is really fantastic compared to the finished version which is a shame.

Favourite tracks so far:
Bones of Birds
By Crooked Steps
Worse Dreams
Rowing - because it's so weird and sounds completely different to anything Soundgarden have done previously.

I'm not blown away by the album but the band have come up with some excellent songs and in my opinion can't be accused of just treading old ground. Plus I think as with every other Soundgarden album there will be some songs on King Animal that I won't fully appreciate until after many, many more listens.
How can I begin anything new with all of yesterday in me?

I didn't think it was out until tomorrow? I pre-ordered the damn thing direct from the label and they emailed me today saying it's just been posted. What a mug.

I've got it since Friday, methinks? Good old German Amazon.

HMV didn't have it on vinyl which was pretty annoying.
