Come on Grungers, you know you love us
You like Bossanova????? Its by far my least fave...I consider it unlistenable. Its like a producer tried to kill them. I think I posted somewhere online an offer to remix it for them for free. Trompe Le Monde is awesome....get it....as far as they're stuff goes its highly under rated. I can't vote I love everything BUT Bossanova. Its not the songs its the production.
Piece of Cake? oh boy...is your fave Clash album Cut the Crap? I'm a notorious second hand shopper so I always end up with bands bad stuff when pickin's are slim. Actually I usually eventually end up with everything cus I'm a packrat. But sonic youth I usually have enough of after one Kim track.

Doolittle is definitely a given! I know its a kind of obvious choice i surpose, but this was an absolute masterpiece. I like the way the instruments drop in and out, and each plays differing parts... The lead guitar parts go against the grain of the time, being more noisy, melodic, rhythmic and simple in nature than all that 80's hair metal. The bass lines are just outright clever.. and the drummer is one of the most under-rated. The Pixies pretty much invented rock band dynamics and doolittle is the instruction manual! lolsheriff jackson wrote:Doolittle. It's a no-brainer isn't it?
hope I didn't sound to snotty. Its the last clash album and its often sighted as one of the worst final album any noteworthy bands put out. I'm not a clash fan at all. I often say thats they're best just to piss off the diehard clash fans. I actually got Trompe Le Mond second hand...$8 so not cheap for a second hand but I saved some bucks. Come On Pilgrim for $0.50 on vinyl was a way better deal! But I'm really happy I got em both.
you could probably play it to someone whos heard the pixies but doesn't remember the song names or anything so they kinda know the band but not really....and you could tell them its they're "greatest hits" and they'd fall for it.kurtdaniel wrote:Doolittle just seems to have the highest proportion of their best songs. And La La Love You is just lovely!!
I went with Surfer Rosa. This album showed what weirdness Frank Black or Black Francis fans were in store for. Broken Face also wins for some of the weirdest topics in a song....ever.
