New Courtney single

Post by sadie » Mon May 18, 2015 2:41 am

I come from a country of northern lights, lightless days and nightless nights.
I'm not gonna sit around and waste my precious divine energy trying to explain and be ashamed of things you think are wrong with me.

Horrible. Sounds like a fucking god damn average pop song. Ugh. And I'm not biased, I wouldn't judge someone's music on their personal life, but the chorus sounds like a god damn rave concert. Idk. I just, couldn't enjoy it.
Fuck this American bullshit, I'm from Yorkshire, and it's Yorkshire day. Let's go eat some tatties and Yorkshire pudding.

Wow I didn't expect that. This seems like something that Courtney herself would make fun of.

Haven't gotten the chance to sit down with headphones and listenlisten, but it's better than You Know My Name I guess. Don't know yet. She sounds like herself, that's for sure. And the direction she's been going isn't a surprise for me at all. The beginning gives me a Spinnerette wibe, don't know why? Listened the b-side just once, and didn't like it much, but I'm gonna wait for the better quality version before I'll say anything.
Anyway, good or bad, it's nice to hear new things from her.

And Miss Narcissist? Did she write this about herself?

The lyrics are amusingly self aware. She knows what people think and say about her and she just doesn't give a fuck. Love it.

I've just heard one song, idk why you people dislike it but to me honestly it was okay. Couldn't expect more.

Because as Liam said, it sounds like an average pop song of today. It's waaaayyyy over-produced and over-polished, and sounds like it should come from Katy Perry or Keisha or something. the sharpness of it hurts your ears too. I mean yeah her stuff has been poppier lately, but not nearly to this extent. It's like when Chris Cornell did Scream, but much worse.

i completely got you , Kristin.
Personally i thought sounded like a throw back to her celebrity skin days. Her voice sounds better and more like her old self. The whole style of the song sounds like a throw back to her older stuff

I know why people dislike it, I just don't care  Didn't expect anything else. That's what it is like with her.

For me it sound less produced than You Know My Name, like taking few steps back towards 90's. But that can be cause of the quality too. Anyway.

I think it'd be an OK song if it had some decent drumming! That shitty, nonstop BOOM BOOM BOOM bass drum is way too overused to be cool anymore.
