First/Fave Grunge Album?

Post by CurlyFry » Fri Mar 29, 2013 2:19 pm

Now I've got all my major assessments in I thought it might be interesting to see what people's first and favourite Grunge Albums are.
My First: Nirvana - Bleach (Next was Incesticide, I was trying to find "Smells Like Teen Spirit" but couldn't remember it's name so I ended up buying a ton of Nirvana's albums...and none of them were Nevermind...)
My Favourite: Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger (the "Hello Kitty" single by HUM is a close second but lost due to it not technically being an album)

The first one I bought was Houdini by Melvins.
It's hard to say which one is my favorite but I'll go with Sourpuss by Swallow since it's semirare :geek:
My favorite MIGHT become Glue by Fluid if it EVER arrives (I ordered it in december!) I think I'll demand my money back and order it from somewhere else.
when the whole thing comes crashing down, don't ask me why, don't ask me why

Pearl Jam 10 came with my first CD player I bought in 91. I later bought Nevermind a few weeks later. They are kind of a tie for first favorite in my mind.

I think my first grunge album was Nirvana's Nevermind, In Utero, Incesticide, and their greatest hits all at once.

My favorite would be Alice in Chains Dirt.

I tried to seduce my wife by singing Big Dumb Sex to her once. Didn't work out though, I dunno why

My first Grunge album was Mother Love Bone's Apple, it opneed to doors to the rest of the scene for me.

And my favorite Grunge record is Pearl Jam's Ten, I never get bored of playing that masterpiece. Actually it's my favorite record of the entire decade.

My first grunge album was Ozma. My brother gave it to me as a present during my metalhead years and said "Blast this shit".

And, as for favorites,

1· Fist sized chunks
2· Giftless
3· Fast stories from kid coma
4· I think I'm gonna be sick
5· Soup
(List goes on)

I actually can't remember which grunge album I had first. I guess it was Vitalogy or Vs. on copied tape, then I bought Ten on CD.

My fav grunge album in a wider sense must be the Singles soundtrack. If you want it narrowed down to one album by a grunge band, Down on the Upside has to be it.

The first one I actually didn´t borrow from one of my friends, or my Father was Mudhoneys Superfuzz Bigmuff. Mudhoney also was the first band I actually discovered myself. So they remain special to me, no matter if they are commercial today or not, it´s fucking mudhoney... :geek:
