Not sure if this has been answered

This is a board for discussion about grunge on the whole. Stuff that doesn't relate to specific bands alone can go in here. Feel free to share with us how you discovered grunge and give your opinion as to what grunge is to you.

Not sure if this has been answered

Post by p00ponabun »

Because I really am too lazy to search. But does anyone know the name of the SNL song in HYPE! where Adam Sandler is singing and has a Santa hat on and no shirt. I think the lyrics are "And I swear that smell you smell, it's not from meeeeee!" And then Chris Farley stage dives into the audience. I'm assuming it's grunge related because it is in HYPE! and SNL always has a music parody of the time (at least back in the good old days).

That is all I got. I have searched SNL archives, looked through Google, and Wikipedia and nothing. Can someone help? My drummer and I love this song and want to see the whole song.

Here is a link to the part of the video that the clip is in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dGoNtncZDo

Thanks so much,

Chris

It is in fact Adam Sandler and his SNL band The Dogs. The song is called "Bad". See the song's transcribed lyrics here: http://snltranscripts.jt.org/92/92hthedogs.phtml
"Buy a car, buy estates. Buy a baseball club, or something elite." ("Car Buying Time", Little Bears from Bangkok)

Thank-you. You are a GOD! I love you right now. Any idea on where to watch the whole video? I searched YouTube and nothing.

Sorry man, I haven't found anything video-ish either. Good luck with your quest though :)

Totally. I keep wishing I could ask Adam Sandler if he wrote that and if so, tell him that he should write more grunge songs, because not only does it sound awesome and grungy, but it's funny, which reminds me of Touch Me I'm Sick. It would be a perfect actual grunge song. Well whoever wrote it at least should write more grunge songs. I could collaborate with them :wink2:

SNL is a dick about having their stuff posted anywhere online...specifically on youtube...cus generally thats where everything gets posted....I'm thinking cus if we had access to all of SNL at once we would be overwhelmed by how little of it is actually decent... this was one of the bright spots.
