This is a board for discussion about grunge on the whole. Stuff that doesn't relate to specific bands alone can go in here. Feel free to share with us how you discovered grunge and give your opinion as to what grunge is to you.

As I was going through my page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Spread-th ... 25?sk=wall for the map band list, I noticed most of the bands came from Seattle, here they are so far, and of course there's more in Olympia, Tacoma, Portland etc.

Re: Seattle Music Scene right now

This thread is old, and I've probably said this before, but I'll post anyhow. When I went there, there were several grunge looking people, and then of course tons of flannel on top of that, and I'm sure it will always be the Mecca. No matter how much time has passed, as long as people are still into grunge, they will find out about Seattle and at least some will want to and will move there. Looking around this thread, several of you have stated you wanted to move there, and while you might not have made it yet, or possibly have changed short-term goals as per what happens in life, the point is that there will always be grunge fans wanting to move there. When I started going around every grunge music video on youtube with "Let's all move to Seattle and play some Grunge!" I got tons of replies back of either "HELL/FUCK YEAH!" or "I'm already here playing this stuff!" or whatnot, and even though that was a year or two ago I still get those comments from time to time and the original comments are uprated a hundred times. Despite the fact that some people say grunge was a million years ago and Seattle is now more about Microsoft, or the music is more hipstery, there will always be grunge there. I hope when I get there that I will find out about all the local newer grunge bands and be a part of that scene. If I do make it, I'll be sure to update you all, post pictures, talk about bands etc. Not to mention all the classic grunge bands that have gotten back together. Newer grunge/grungish bands (taken from my page list, and there are more form Seattle than any other city) are

There's a couple prog bands out of Seattle that I like, their alternative scene is also pretty decent. Also, there's Sadistik, but he's not exactly grungy

There was a band called thread that played around Seattle in the early 90s. They never made it big, but they recently put their stuff out on iTunes, Spotify, etc. You should check them out. Here's their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/threadseattle

Nice, I'll have to check those out. You guys should tour with other modern grunge bands, from Seattle or elsewhere, like The Valley, Electric Falcons, Senium, Violent Soho etc.

Yes, Seattle is still the king of heavy dirty rock music! The Valley, Electric Falcons, Kozo, The Ax, Helm's Alee, BlackBeatBlue, (9999), Pouch, Perfume, Suction, The Supernals, Mos Generator, Mind Vice, Dead Language, Batter Dean, The Mothership, Villains of Yesterday, Thunders of Wrath...I'm totally forgetting some.
