Grunge freuds?

This is a board for discussion about grunge on the whole. Stuff that doesn't relate to specific bands alone can go in here. Feel free to share with us how you discovered grunge and give your opinion as to what grunge is to you.

Grunge freuds?

Post by incessantmace » Tue Aug 22, 2017 8:08 am

I know this is kinda tabloid-ish but oh so entertaining too :P

I thought of this because right now at this very minute there's a feud on Facebook between Carrie Akre (of Hammerbox and Goodness fame) and Xana La Fuente (whom you might know as Andy Wood's muse and artist in her own right) and I'm just wowed by the whole thing...

What other grunge feuds come to your mind? I mean we all know Eddie and Kurt had their thing going back in the day so we might not have to elaborate further on that (but if you feel like you have to I won't stop you :P  )

I guess you could say Maureen Herman and Lori Barbero.

Sorry but I have to point out how funny it is that this is titled "Grunge FREUDS" instead of feuds...*cough freudian slip to the max* ;)

The Kurt Vs. Axl thing at the MTV Awards was hilarious. I heard Kurt's side and Axl's. Axl's clapbacks were tasteless low-blows. Kurt's sarcasm was priceless though.

"... because tonight was obviously the highlight of his career.." - Kurt

Hahaha, that one had me rolling, especially considering that by that point in time a lot of hair metal and LA sleaze bands were getting thrown into yesterday's trash by the youth and media's new interest in grunge.

My vote goes for this. The whole situation wasn't very punk rock of them. But that just tells how much it is about business after all. Even for the punkrock ones.

But then there's Mrs. Love, who has had fReuds ( ) with everyone imaginable I guess.

Also, I just hatehatehate Buzz. I can't deal with him.

Not really a grunge feud but I read that a lot of Seattle bands were pissed off about Steve Fisk calling Seattle "lame" in "Hype!" and that the music scene solely consisted of Pere Ubu/Killing Joke/Talking Heads cover bands.
