New Lanegan

Talk about the formidable Screaming Trees, the first band I ever saw live (opening for Soul Asylum and Spin Doctors in the early 90s).

New music is always good.

And now I have a somewhat embarrassing question, how do you guys pronounce Lanegan? I watched a movie teaser(?) that he is apart of and the way they said his name has made me question if I have been mispronouncing his name for years.

I've always pronounced it like I pronounce Finnish. So most likely wrong  There's a lot of words in English I have no idea how they're pronounced, cause I rarely talk, and mostly just read and write. Not to mention Finnish is really straight forward, every word is said like it's written.

But thank you for this lesson  Now I'm gonna go and see if I find something where he's being interviewed so I can hear it

//well, I wasn't as wrong as I thought. Also, never heard him talk before :o only in person and that was only few words. His voice is honey.

I watched my first Lanegan interview yesterday, and oh! He wasn't what I expected at all! It was from Blues Funeral era.

I was thinking when I went to bed, that Blues Funeral and Phantom Radio got me through the biggest disasters in my personal life. Can't wait for the new album! No disaster in sight (knock, knock) but maybe this album is for healing?

I don't know yet what to say about the new album. There are songs I definitely loved the moment I first heard them, but there are few I'm not kind of sure yet.

Fixed it for you Dan. ;)

Anyways, it was a good interview overall. Definitely recommend a listen. Also if you want to listen to the first portion with Mac DeMarco I say give it a shot. Really interesting.

I was able to finally get a copy of Gargoyle, and I think it's great. There are songs that stick out for me immediately than others. I think I like this one more than Phantom Radio.
