I remember a Q issue from like 2004 with the 50 best music videos and the caption for this one was "Nobody ever copied the castle slapping dance." True words, no? One of my earliest music video memories, mind.

Right now I'm digging this one though:

This is one of my favorite songs and videos from the eighties. Prince really was/is a genius in his own right. And I love the way he used the Times font in this video *snickers*

... This question would have gone without an answer from me for years, seeing as most of my tastes were entrenched in the golden days of the 70s... in said days the closest thing rockers regularly did for music videos was compile live concert footage, which I still think are the best kinds...
