Grunge Forum 500

Post by SKUNCHBAG » Tue Aug 02, 2016 6:10 pm

About time we got the ball rolling, hmm?

Just to keep up the concept from the previous compilation, let's make this a unique thing -- a collection of tracks that you can't find anywhere else.

You can email them submissions to starrkream@gmail.com ; dropbox links, mediafire links or whatever uploading services you fancy are fine. If possible, try to use lossless audio formats like .wav, .flac or .aiff for your submission, it'll make my job a lot easier. And if you've got some kewl image on yer hard drive that you think would make for a nice album art then feel free to post it here.

For now, I'm thinking about early December for the deadline so that we can pull off a neat new years release. It's four months from now, which I think is enough time for anyone to work on just a single track, but don't worry, the deadline can be extended if we turn out to be a real bunch of slackers, Gods know it has been done before.

Now let's get to writing!

That's cool. I'll update on face book. Those members who aren't active here might as well see.

So only originals? No covers at all?

I'm not entirely sure but I think it's like; release something exclusively for this compilation. So covers are okay?

Covers are okay -- but whatever recording you submit shouldn't be available anywhere else. That's the point.

If covers are OK, then I'll submit "Oh Me" (originally by The Meat Puppets) recorded with a full band :)

How's the distribution of the compilation taking place? (sorry I'm new to the forum, so I don't know how previous editions worked)

At all (even the original) or your version of it shouldn't be available anywhere else?
I come from a country of northern lights, lightless days and nightless nights.
I'm not gonna sit around and waste my precious divine energy trying to explain and be ashamed of things you think are wrong with me.

Anything. The original or a special recording session of a song that hasn't seen the light of day qualifies, from my understanding of Dante's expectations.

Basically if you put out an album or song on your own don't resubmit it for the comp. Now, if you have a different version of a song that hasn't appeared anywhere then that is fair game.

^that. If you've got a nice tune you'd like to submit but you've already uploaded it to a hundred sites then you can record a different version of it for the compilation. That's fine by me. I just want the damn thing to be full of obscure recordings.
