It's okay to like Tool, as long as you like individual songs you hear by them and then move on.

If you think of yourself as someone who likes Tool, and/or you own a Tool t-shirt, then you need therapy.

It's like the difference between someone who gets high once in a while on the weekends or in the evenings but still goes to work and kicks ass, vs. a junkie strung out on the corner begging for change.
