in any case, i dig your stuff, i agree with Wade that you sound a little like Ian Curtis, you should definitely check out Joy Division, all the cool kids like them.

Start with Love Will Tear Us Apart (everyone knows that) then I'd say listen to Unknown Pleasures. Unless Jan thinks different. I'd listen to Closer as the closer considering that was the hardest to get into for me. And then of course there's An ideal for living. Their first ep. It's alright. Very punk-y.
