No yeah I agree it's not like necessary for pretty much anything but it's very useful for chords + solo's so like learning about relative majors and minors the minor pentatonic scale in the relative minor is the major pentatonic scale in the key your're in, very useful to know especially in songs that use mainly power chords as you can swap between. Working on that atm, so far all my solo's are just 1st position minor pentatonic :( :lol:

Chromatic scale. On guitar, with use of some hammer-ons, bends and pull-offs, and for as long as you're not off-tempo, anything comes in handy.

Nah man fuck the chromatic scale, it's not even a scale. Harmonic minor is nice

Chromatic scale is nice theoretically as it requires no skill to use it but that normally means it ends up sort of shit and when it does sound nice it's mainly because you're basically playing a different scale with a few extra notes. Whole tone sounds interesting
