The end result outweighs the fear. Once you accomplish something and know that other people are hearing it and appreciating it, it feels all warm and fuzzy. Besides, it doesn't have to be good, just soulful :D

I've heard in the new Albini mixes he doesn't even use the cello track. Looking forward to hearing it more raw like that.

I think the cello in a weird way adds to the rawness, kinda like the piano in Mudhoney's I'm Now.
