Dude, Nirvana isn;t a prog rock band.... you can't judge their songs on technicality and well, if by best, you go by public opinion, just make a poll....

I guess I'd have to say "Plateau".

Plateau is a meat puppets song. But it sounded a lot better when Kurt sung it.

I like Frances farmer and Serve the servants and Milk it. And Hairspray queen! There's just so many cool songs! Too many to pick out one favorite.

Ha! Meat Puppets. That's a great name. I didn't know that though. Thanks.

There are too many good ones to choose from.

On the moment (like rachel-k says, it various every week...) it's Lithium, mostly cus it's sweet to play it on my guitar. Cool mutes and rythm...
Even I don't understand what they want to say in their lyrick...

how about the best like more than one on best song...
also it depends how you feel when you listen to nirvana. overall the best song is probably the man who sold the world just becucase kurt plays it so well even though its not one of their originals, but their best oringinal song is tourette's. it sounds really grungy and is less than 2 mins.
