More details have been revealed for the 20th anniversary deluxe reissue of Nirvana’s In Utero. As Slicing Up Eyeballs points out, Universal Records has announced a September 24th release date for the “Super Deluxe Edition” box set, which will include more than 70 remastered, remixed, rare, unreleased and live recordings.

Spread out over four discs, the bonus material will comprise “a veritable treasure trove of never-before-heard demos, B-sides, compilation tracks, and live material featuring the final touring lineup of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear.” Among the highlights is a complete recording of the band’s “Live and Loud” concert at Seattle’s Pier 48 from December 13th 1993.

The reissue will also be released as a 2-CD set and triple vinyl set, while the “Live and Loud” concert film will be available as a standalone DVD, as well. Full tracklists for each configuration will be revealed shortly.

I really hope its not five copies of every song. Could be cool but we'll wait and see.

I can't wait for this. I'm so much more excited than like for example of the Nevermind one.

I mean In Utero is my all time fave ever.
I come from a country of northern lights, lightless days and nightless nights.
I'm not gonna sit around and waste my precious divine energy trying to explain and be ashamed of things you think are wrong with me.

I just want the Live and Loud concert on CD. That's all I wanted since I discovered Nirvana!

Jack Endino:
“Sometimes I have a very strange day. Yesterday: 1) Was “knighted” as “Lord Of Local Music” by 2013 Seafair King Neptune (Jonathan Poneman)… it’s a funny Seattle thing, don’t ask me to explain; 2) hung out with Craig Montgomery going thru old tapes, searching for a particular Nirvana rarity for possible use on Utero Deluxe; 3) Uploaded final “Basment” Sessions vinyl master to Pirate’s Press server; 4) took my regular call from Kim Thayil asking (yet again) about some old stuff we recorded 26 years ago.”

Sadly, I don't think I'll be able to buy this one. At least not for a while.

Yeah, I'm hoping the price goes down a little before it ships, the Nevermind set was $112 when I got that.
