Bleach vs. Nevermind Vs. In Utero

Post by Logan Ruckman »

Three great albums by one of the all time greatest bands, but which one is the best? I expect the majority of you to say Nevermind, but I have to say, my favorite Nirvana album has to be In Utero. In my opinion, that's the album where they truly perfected their mixture of Punk, Alternative, Noise Rock, and Pop. It also has the best songs, IMO, like Heart Shaped Box, Dumb, Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle, Scentless Apprentice, Serve The Servants, etc. All three of their albums are perfect, it's just that In Utero is their most perfect.

In Utero.

Nevermind. Actually I always hear everyone say they like In Utero the best, but my favorite is Nevermind. I just don't hear the over-polishedness everyone keeps taking about.

They're all good albums, and as a fan I think it's unfair to have to choose. But In Utero has all the tunes that have kept me alive since who knows. I never thought Nevermind was too polished, I've always liked the record without feeling shame.
Like with everything I love, if someone doesn't or has something bad to say, I mostly just think that they don't get it like I do. (Not in "I'm the best and others suck" way, but in "we have different approaches on this" kind of way)

Everyone of those albums are for so different mood.

Nevermind

Anybody who says IU or Bleach are just trying to show how counter-commercial culture they are.

In Utero, altough it is not the album Nirvana initially wanted it to be. But it is the best compromise ever made in the history of music, without losing the status of being the most radical Nirvana-Album ever... 8|

Just because there are a lot of people that do that doesn't mean you should assume that everyone is like that. Though I do hate it when they do that, and there are wayyy too many people who do, you just can't generalize like that, as there is such a thing as being different than other people and just liking different things, and I hope you actually like Nevermind and aren't going with it to prove how anti-counter-commercial culture you are, because that's just as bad, but I'm not going to assume that, as my favorite was always Nevermind as well.
