That is a decently awful picture but I wouldn't fall to pieces if it was used for blackmail :P

You see the trick is to shoot up a bunch of heroin & then stumble around in an alleyway. Gives you that natural "Street Urchin" look.

Also, how come I wasn't invited to the extortion party? I got something on erbody on the forum :P

i was just looking around the web at grungey stuff and came across this. While I have no strong opinion one way or the other about ripping jeans, I do know that Kurt was influenced by many bands before him and always said so. Thankfully I'm only two years late to contribute on this one!

If you want to be technical about it though, he actually coined the term "grunge" at an awards ceremony; it didn't exist before that. That really does make him the 'father' of grunge, influences or no. Everyone before him was playing whatever they considered their mix of genres to be.

Where did you hear that? The term grunge has been around since the 60s, meaning "dirty", but then for the specific Seattle scene music it was Mark Arm of Green River and Mudhoney describing his band of the time, Mr. Epp and the Calculations, as "Pure Grunge! Pure Noise! Pure Shit!" to the local Seattle music magazine The Rocket, though he says that others were using the word grunge to describe music before that as well.

Had to throw my Jeans out. They had gotten uber grunge, in other words the knee holes were massive, and it looked weird. I scuffed them on carpet, by accident lol, if that at all helps.
