One of my favorite thing about used Docs though is wondering where the came from, same with vintage cloths.

When I buy them at a thrift store or flea market and not directly from the pervious owner I always wonder who bought them and where did they buy them, since most tend to be from the 80s and 90s I wonder what they wore them with. What happened in this strangers life while wearing these shoes? Where did they go, where have they been? Did the met the love of their life wearing these shoes? Did they bring children into the world?

And since most of the used Docs I find are Made In England, I wonder who made them. What kind of accent they had, if they were even from England. If they were working through school or just trying to survive.

I think too much.

I feel that way about my old clothes. Even records or books, which sometimes have messages in them. In the John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band sleeve, someone wrote "MAM, got an early tel. call." What was this conversation about between two Welsh peiple in the 1970s? Or in a book of Shelley's poetry, inscribed "Merry Xmas, with love, Horace. 1931." Who is Horace?

Yes! The other day I bought a book about the Green River killer and inside as a bookmark was a hand written, mailed letter from the early 90s.

Or another time there was a Courtney Love Bio that I flipped through out of curiosity and it had post card of De Sade in it. I put it in a book I was actually buying.

The letter was from a daughter to her mother, the daughter had moved to florida and was asking for money because she didn't have any to go to the doctor for her nose. The letter didn't say what was wrong with her nose.

It also went on to say that she loved her mother and that she was sorry for what had happened.

Me and my fiancee decided that the mother may of died and someone just donated her things, because it seemed like such an important personal letter that she was using as a bookmark. When you donate stuff you sort through it to make sure that those kinds of things aren't there.

I just really badly want read CL books, cause I haven't anything but Love and Hate and it was lame.
I come from a country of northern lights, lightless days and nightless nights.
I'm not gonna sit around and waste my precious divine energy trying to explain and be ashamed of things you think are wrong with me.
