Do you wear band names/logos?

Post by SKUNCHBAG »

I'm not talking about buying a t-shirt, cap, tanktop or whatever that already had the name of a band printed on it. No, no. I'm talking about patches, hand-writings (Or drawings) and any other made-at-home decoration in any of your clothing.

When I was about sixteen, I couldn't find any stuff that had the names of the bands I liked, so I started to "customize" some of my clothes myself. I have hand-writen all my shoes with a permanent marker with some poetry, band names, and stuff like that. I also have a yellow longsleeved t-shirt where I traced "Mad Season" from a poster I had of Above's album cover, and drew Soundgarden's logo from Badmotorfinger in the back of an old shirt I had that looked like some kind of jacket. I'll upload some pictures of it whenever I find my camera.

And what about you?

I've made shirts, paintings, patches, lyric books etc etc. I'll take pics later. And do tattoos count? Cause those I'm gonna have in a bit. I wasn't first sure, but now I am cause I'm gonna hide them in places that only hubby will see.

Yeah I have a bit of that sort of thing. I wrote over 100 band names on this pair of jeans, and I write Love Battery lyrics on my shoes.

Ah, well thank you. I was trying to recreate this one cool pair of jeans from this Special K commercial where this woman has old jeans that she can't fit into anymore so she gives them to her daughter until she fits in them again, but since I hadn't seen it in ages and I couldn't find it, I only remembered it had a peace sign on it, so I basically sewed red thread in the form of a peace sign on there, and an X as well, and the phrase "You're My Vitamins" from Drain You by Nirvana because I always liked that phrase and it made sense with the bands because I basically consume them, then I ripped them up and started writing bands. I loooove jeans, but sometimes, they can seem very boring.

I agree. I like it for my things to have some kind of special mark that makes them truly mine and unique. For example, everytime I befriend someone who is really cool, I ask them to write their signature in a pair of old ripped jeans I have in my wardrobe. Most people likes the idea, and it makes me happy to have jeans with a history of all the good persons I've met.

Or you could just make all three of us one extremely large beanie and we could wear it around like some kind of freakish three headed monster. Seriously though I'd be willing to send money if you make me something. I don't have the kind of creativity or clothing skills to make stuff like that on my own

Telling me how to do it is not the same as a heart felt gift.
