So I have a bunch of overly ripped jeans that i can't really wear anymore. But i want to patch them up. Im not very handy with a needle so i was wondering if there was any tutorials or if anyone knows how to patch jeans so i can get the look of Heart Shaped Box-esque Kurt Cobain jeans

cut some pieces of jeans, patch it from inside or outside.

Get a needle, a thread and fabric you want to sew on there.

Tie the thread to the end of the needle
Start weaving in and out
When done cut the thread so a little but is sticking out, thank tie it so it doesn't come loose.

I do this a lot, which is kinda why I started the Embroidered patches topic.
What I do is either sew a band patch over the hole, or if it's too big I sew fabric on the inside.
The pair I'm wearing now are ripped at the knees about half way round. What I did was get some cheap grey cotton fabric and sewed it on the inside of the jeans whilst wearing them. I sewed the fabric on whilst my knees were bent so that there was slack fabric there for when I did bend my knees. It's not difficult but it can be time consuming. There is quite a lot of stress on the fabric over my knees so I made sure to sew round the hole at least twice. It all worked out how I wanted it though. It's a bit too cold for ripped jeans in the winter.
A quick and easier fix for smaller holes are iron on fabric patches (the type your mom used to iron over your school trousers when you ripped them). You can get them in a few different colors and fabrics. With those you could iron them on the inside or out. They're a great quick fix.
