Alice In Chains MTV Unplugged, anything better?

Post by kalashnicult »

Seriously... will any AIC concert/performance ever come close to the unplugged MTV show back in 1996? It was so magical, Laynes most haunting and memorable show for the pure emotion in the songs, has anything came close to this in the past in both new or original AIC?

nah the Nirvana one didn't come as close 4 me. not that i didn't like it. I loved it. hell i love most unplugged videos (of the 90's especially) and Though i find both performances were cool yet sad I Thought more was happening with the AIC version. I mean Layne just came out of rehab, his hair was red, he messed up sludgefactory. and was like whats my motivation here? Mike Inez threw words on his guitar for Metallica Who were in the crowd. The band did country 4 a few seconds in the end they sang Over now Layne says OK that's it, someone boos then he says "Hey fuck you man!" I found that the more Epic of the two.

I love Bob Dylan, but I couldn't stand his MTV Unplugged performance. I even sold the CD cause I couldn't stand it.

For the topic on hand, I guess it really depends. Alice in Chains and Nirvana's performances are legendary, that's for sure. I think they are about even for me.

I would never sell a Dylan CD, not even if I was drunk, high, held at both gun and penis point, and it was all a dream.

I can't watch it, it's so hard. I just bawl like a child. It hurts so much to watch it.

I'm confused though? I thought the question was if AIC will/have ever had a better performance?

Yeah shame on you for thinking/deciding for yourself

I actually prefer the Nirvana one, even though AiC unplugged might be the best, but I can't listen to it without crying my eyes out.

AiC Unplugged reminds me of Jen though <3 She's the only one who I can be with me when I listen to "alone in the dark without breathing" albums.
I come from a country of northern lights, lightless days and nightless nights.
I'm not gonna sit around and waste my precious divine energy trying to explain and be ashamed of things you think are wrong with me.
