Oh hey it's a local reference! Mount Rainier is the closest mountain to us.

According to some articles I found, this is the first album they recorded in Seattle in many, many years. And one of the songs is an homage to the old grunge scene so that's something to look forward to.

I love the album name and the feeling it invokes and the artwork looks dope as well (finally lines up with a lot of their merch shirts -- and gives me a strong Echos of Miles vibe), I don't really feel much attachment to the songs though, ''The One You Know'' has grown on me, mainly for the chorus, but it still feels bare bones and lacking, ''So Far Under'' isn't bad, I like the riff, but it still sounds like pretty much anything else that's been on these last two albums (Black/Blue & Devil/Dinosaurs).

I guess it's just too much wishful thinking that we'll ever get the same level of soul-crushing writing and gutter heaviness that Dirt, Tripod and Degradation Trip had, I know Jerry and Will have it in them, but it seems like they're more set on just recording modern rock radio tunes and playing their old hits live in stadiums as opposed to trying to pen another groundbreaking classic, not saying there's anything wrong with that, I just feel they could do so much more than that. I don't know, no hate, just my personal opinion, still looking forward to this album irregardless because it's fuckin' Alice In Chains.

I can't wait! 💜
I come from a country of northern lights, lightless days and nightless nights.
I'm not gonna sit around and waste my precious divine energy trying to explain and be ashamed of things you think are wrong with me.

Legit, this is my favorite thus far. The harmonizing takes me back to Layne/Jerry.

It's a mountain/semi-active volcano, and then several things here are named after it. There's a locally-famous beer here called Rainier Beer, dating back to 1878. There are neighborhoods with the name rainier as well.

The album is out and I must say this one is my favorite with WIll Duvall. There are more harmonized tracks, in my opinion, and they do a fantastic tribute to the Seattle sound. Highly recommend.

The One You Know, Red Giant and All I Am stand out as "highlights", but all-in-all this album is a detestably mediocre let down for me, certainly my least favorite of the nu-Chains trilogy. :(

So far I think Rainier Fog is my favorite song alongside Never Fade.

well ok in may i wrote "what i blame is the whole new sound, i feel a lack of inspiration"
i have to admit AIC have demonstrated inspiration in this new album. I like the "under"work of Cantrell's guitars, there are really good moments of mistures of their voices, nice lyrics... so thanx for a brilliant product.
Obviosluy it can't win against the first AIC era, but it's indeed music i like to sing.
The one you know, Drone, Deaf Ears Blind Eyes, Red giant, never fade, so far under are really good songs
All i am is epic
They end the album saying "cannot recognize the face before me, it's unfamiliar" :o
this is pure chilling sadness
and the tone they use... wow
I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile.
I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well.
I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave,
Trust me Trust me Trust me
