What show is that? I'm a dumbass.
Fuck this American bullshit, I'm from Yorkshire, and it's Yorkshire day. Let's go eat some tatties and Yorkshire pudding.

Some of their songs vaguely sounded like Pearl Jam (mostly Core). However, they developed a unique sound with Purple and Tiny Music that, in my opinion, doesn't sound much like Pearl Jam.

I would think that if you are a band with as wide of a range of STP you would change up your sound after Core. As good as Core is it is a one trick pony. The Mighty Joe Young demo, while containing some grunge sounding songs also had some other types of music on there to show off their diversity. Dirty Dog, Love Machine, and Old Dixie are all different genres probably put on the tape to show diversity. The record label likely told the band they have a deal but since grunge is the in thing now release a grunge album, so the band did just that.Moon_Jelly wrote:Some of their songs vaguely sounded like Pearl Jam (mostly Core). Plus there was the whole there where people would ask Eddie what he thought of the San Diego band STP, and Eddie would usually reply about how he was from San Diego and never heard of them before.
I'm personally glad all of the "grunge" band kept expanding on their sound. Each trying to get away from what the media dubbed as grunge and just becoming music.

A name-change can be quite inconvenient, maybe if they had asked Eddie about Mighty joe young it would have rang a bell as he was fishing in the same funky ocean with Bad radio.boxcar wrote: Plus there was the whole there where people would ask Eddie what he thought of the San Diego band STP, and Eddie would usually reply about how he was from San Diego and never heard of them before.
