sy is really not grunge

Kim Gordon & Thurston Moore have been kicking it hard for over 20 years and they can still put on a mean show. Talk about these New York gods here!

Again AM, duely noted and we'll see what others think. This board is new and it will develop the way it's members want.

Keep the suggestions coming!

Nah, keep it. Sonic Youth were a big influence along with the Pixies.
I imagine flying tortillas with the face of the Virgin Mary on them, and some mexican house wife screaming "AIEEE!"

Grunge didn't exist. Why do 13 year olds want to rewrite history? Sonic youth was there with the rest of them, so why shouldn't they be on this board?

The grunge term was created to sell darker, dirtier alternative music. Sonic youth is definately dark, and it's the dirtiest of all.

Anyway, I don't care anymore. I had all these stupid arguments before, and now this board has been wiped clean. I don't care if it succeeds anymore. I fully expect it to get filled to the brim with misinformation and hype.

so is weezer and they're definatley not grunge. It gets annoying when people confuse noise rock with grunge. Grunge is blues, arena rock, punk, and metal all mashed together.
