Death Valley '69

Kim Gordon & Thurston Moore have been kicking it hard for over 20 years and they can still put on a mean show. Talk about these New York gods here!

Death Valley '69

Does anybody now what the heck this song is about? From what i've heard in the lyrics, it sounds like the Manson Family (coming down fast, Sadie i love it, etc). Any ideas?

That is exactly what it was about. They wrote it in response to the whole "Family Value" campaigns (PSAs) of mid-eighties America. So rather than the perfect moral family, they picked the Manson family as a form of parody.

It's still a pretty cool song. And possibly one of the funniest parodys of all time.
