Squeeze “Goodbye Girl

... a girl at The Angel was carrying a real torch for me, until her mates pressured her into leaving. She gave me the look as she made her way out ... “she looked like something special, the kind who’d understand”

This song is such a banger and it makes me far better and interesting that the guy singing is behind the Filthy Frank character on YouTube and all the memes.

Jerry Cantrell -- Give it a Name

Gorgeous -- through rootsy the song is decidedly grungy, and offers a feeling both ethereal, somber yet intimate at once.

Thin Lizzy, "Philomena"

I adore the way in which Thin Lizzy embraced their Irish roots, and in doing so how they went far beyond the rock band template...

The Proclaimers, "Angry Cyclist"
I feel like this song is increasingly beginning to echo the harrowing social environment across the pond.

"...Old prejudice hasn't gone,
New energy drives it on
..."
