Re: Is Jesus Christ Pose REALLY controversial?

Controversially epic, in my humble opinion. “JCP” twists together the worlds of a cathartic, bruising melody, noisy experimental guitar playing, and the commanding authority of Chris Cornell’s vocal power - when I first heart it I loved it and could not believe something of its nature existed! The m...

Re: Where would Nirvana be if Kurt lived...

I do feel that Nirvana’s studio body of work was complete. Then again, “Do Re Mi” certainly had a ‘goodbye’ type of flavour to it. That does incline me to view the route of a 4th, final album, the ‘farewell’ record. I think that Kurt would’ve followed through with his talk of “really ethereal and ac...

I'm going to see them!

... or at least, I have booked tickets! You never know in these times. I'm all booked-in to see Pearl Jam with the Pixies, and I know it will be great to see both of these bands, at Hyde Park, down in London next July.

Re: Do Re Mi - does a band version exist?

No Re Mi, it does not - not one available for public consumption, at any rate. We do, however, have the next best thing at our fingertips: "custom-made" versions by integrating the original acoustic demo with other studio elements from Nirvana's discography! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Bzi2Kg7jf...

I honestly think that by now, I know enough music to last me a decent while...
On the other hand, the Breeders have made a big connection with me lately...

Re: Kiss’ Paul Stanley Rips Modern Musicians: ‘They Aren’t Human Beings’

It becomes extremely tiring and depressing to hear these folks winge on and on with this narrative of “oh, they’re rubbish, they only got to number two!”. Back in the day, it was considered a massive achievement to even scrape the top-100. — —- To me it appears, that Poland and Russia, Eastern Europ...

That they put on an outstanding and highly engaging live performance, even if you have to travel to London to see it :D

Re: Music to listen to while driving

Manic Street Preachers, Lifeblood is very complementary to those lonely trips, heading back up north ... not that I’ve been going to the south or anything like that much in recent months.
Doesn’t necessarily have to be while driving.

Re: Alice 'N Chains - live 1986

The evolution of Layne Staley from the near-novelty of his glam-metal roots, to music that was often so serious and emotionally-charged, is one attribute of the band that will always be fascinating to me.

Re: Best song to hear live?

Me personally has to go to Drain You, Radio Friendly Unit Shifter, and Aneurysm Old post but, definitely "Drain You", as fantastic as the studio version sounds, there's a certain raw brilliance in hearing that track live, and Pat Smear definitely added a thing or two to it in the later days. Whenev...
