I'm not speaking for everyone else but for me grunge had a point in time where its lyrics became a part of me. I always loved it because I always felt a connection to it. The apathy, the sorrow at times, and majority of the time the social alienation I've dealt with. It depended on the bands with me...

I totally agree. I remember when I was only 12 people would say all sorts of stupid shit to me at school for being into rock and roll and then when SYSTEM OF A DOWN released BYOB everybody was asking me questions about rock and trying to impress me and I don't even listen to SOAD like that. :x
