Re: Neil Young

Oh, he did mention that one of his favourite albums, or perhaps the biggest favourite of them all, is 1978's Comes A Time.
That did not surprise me. It is beautiful and serene, and I love it too.

Re: Neil Young

--- I'm not really into reading right now (due to various reasons, mostly lack of time and energy), but I have Waging Heavy Peace reserved already and planning to read it around december. :) And I did read it, too. Last summer. I have to say Neil's way of writing really surprised me. I was expectin...

Re: What are you currently listening to?

Like clockwork, you mean? It's pretty much in the direction of their latest albums. Did not surprise me. Is enjoyable, sounds clear, works like a clock, obviously :-P (but is not as groundshaking as Kyuss, obviously :-P )

Re: Jan's "Albums relistened" thread

I'd have a lot of business writing in this chain because I'm relistening old albums all the time, and seldom any new ones :-P

I haven't bought Lightning bolt yet, but based on two rounds in "Spotify", I'd have to agree with Jan.

Re: Motorvision

Haven't watched this in a while, or any VHS for that matter. But this brings to my mind, that my 1990 VCR might still be working... and it's also already wired up to the mini tv. Should only take a minute or two to try..

Re: Anthony Kiedis' autobiography

I read it or at least quite long samples from it (don't remember which is correct, I don't own the book anyway), and felt it explained a few things about the band that I had not previously realized (known perhaps, yes, but not fully realized), and for that reason it was a good read. The drug referen...

Keep them :) Sell, if you feel "no connection" after a couple of years. Are you moving far from where you currently live?

Pre-ordered the album and, just realized, that it still sits on the shelf all wrapped up. :weird: I knew I'd forgotten a couple of things..

Re: 4th of september

[quote="tracheae"] i think that was the first year of college and thought their thing was just idiotic and ridiculously teenage. But i was also somewhat black n white in my thinking back then. I thought that i or anyone else should never be 'in it' for anything else except the music. But basically, ...

Re: 4th of september

:) good to get new old fans here! I was just checking the schedules.. so i'll see you at the helsinki show this evening. how weird and exciting to see soundgarden here! From what i remember, 'grunge' was unknown here until early nineties. Sure there were people who found these bands anyway, but for ...

Re: The Tea Party

Oh hey, half a year has passed. By now it's safe to say that Transmission (1997) is and always will be my favourite Tea Party album. It has had a pretty much life changing influence on me. To me The Tea Party is essentially a "feeling". I relate to the "feel" of the songs, the mood and content of th...
