Re: Cassette Tapes

Well anything beyond Bryan Adams, Celine Dion and Nickelback basically. Were there any Canuck musicians apart from Neil Young worth mentioning in former decades? Is there any kind of public funding for music projects? What do people do when they're born into Manitoba or Saskatchewan and want to star...

Re: Cassette Tapes

I'm doing classes on Canada with my 12th graders (it's a mandatory A-Level topic) and this just reminded me to have them make a presentation about the Canadian music scene...

Re: This band or that band?

Going for the less popular opinion but INXS arguably had a bigger impact on me than AC/CD (duly bought the Thunderstruck single as an impressionable youth though).

Distillers or Spinnerette?

Re: Soundgarden News Thread

Here we go again... :| I still don't feel ready to hear any new stuff by Chris or the band but then again I'll probably never be. My life went downhill since his death anyway and I'm still struggling to get back on track, so dealing with the death of the most important and influential musician in my...

Re: Albums you have bought lately

I went to the record store with a colleague for the first time in years and bought Fireside's "Uomini D'Onore" and was kinda freaked out to find a Steve Fisk CD so of course I had to buy that one :D

Pffff don't care too much for either. Primus were more fun though so I choose them.

Blondie or the Runaways?

Gonna see them (probably)

So they're finally coming to my town and I was just about to order two tickets for a hundred bucks but the bill ended up being 150 wtf

Gotta check how that went, may have to use another ticket provider. Will be glad when I can finally tick AiC off my "to see live" bucket list though! :D

Re: How old were you when Nevermind came out?

I'm sure I've answered to this thread before but I was almost fifteen back then. All the cool people listened to it while I rather played my Marc Cohn record on repeat.

And Evee that post/picture combination is truly epic

Re: Cassette Tapes

I miss the days when I still made actual mixtapes, stopped doing that when I finally got myself a proper CD burner in the early 2000's. Sometimes bands I follow on Bandcamp still put out cassette tapes and I feel a strange joy when I get them in the mail.

Re: Bands You Can't Stand

Oh, a well-founded argument about WHAT THE FUCK IS GRUNGE with two actually opposing sides! We haven't had that in YEARS and I'm so happy about it :D :D :D Personally, I think grunge is best defined by the word's origins which lie in Sub Pop's tongue-in-cheek world domination attitude and Mark Arm's...

Also, welcome to the forum! I'm Jan, a guy from Germany and a huge Soundgarden fan :)
